[I'm making part of a private email public, which I normally wouldn't
do, but I thought it important to squelch this rumor as quickly as
possible].

With regard to this last, that was a misinformation by someone who,
although an MPEG member, was not familiar with our work direction.
A great amount of 3-D capability will be
provided in MPEG-4 phase 1; what won't be included are highly advanced
things like acoustic material reflectance properties and normative
realization of reverbs from 3-D room models.

If you run into people spreading these rumors (although I don't mean to
harsh on you, Kim), please inform them quickly and in an agitated manner
that they've been misinformed.

I've already spoken privately with the source of the rumor.

Thanks, and best regards to all.
