Have interesting details. One, in particular, caught my eye
with respect to SAOL:

While there are hardcoded design issues in the SB Live chipset
(most notably, all signals are upsampled to 48khz
 before processing may occur) [...]

If true, this will certainly introduce compiling challenges,
if a SAOL program has its srate set to anything other but 48000!
