instruments?

Dear list,

I've been faced with a confusing question for some days and I'd like your
opinion about it:

  Should a classic analog 2-oscillator synth (2 vco, 1 vcf, 1 vca) be
  modeled as one instrument or several instruments (which would form a
  pipeline using routing?)?

I need to know this for my code generator i'm working on.
