Hi,
At my school (Utrecht School of the Arts), we discussed about SAOG, and we
all agreed, that there we not much people convinced yet of MPEG-4 SA
(and/or completely understand the whole, as the recent music-dsp discussion
shows), and there is not yet a community around it just like those of
Csound and VST (the ones just like the SAOG-proposal mentioned).
Someone also noticed that it would do not good if you (Eric) also leave to
support saolc and perhaps also more-or-less loose the 'responsability' of it.
So wouldn't that be a good task for SAOG to take these things over? To
- point people to MPEG-4 SA, or: 'keep the spirit high'
- keep saolc alive (perhaps make it realtime),
- provide suggestions for standard extensions, like plugin-formats etc?
