But you still need to distribute a runtime. Some people don't like the
idea of letting their system become a junkyard of DLLs. This is what
causes me to reinstall Windows98 every year or so.

That would be very nice. For the moment I'm developing on Linux, so I
think I can't access a COM object from within Linux, or am I wrong?
It would be very nice to have a SAOL decoder.
