Qt thoughts (perhaps off-topic)

Dear,

As the development of the QOrchestra core advances, I am confronted
with a number of implementation and portability issues.

I want to keep the software as portable as possible. The documentation
of the Qt toolkit states that STL is not yet completely supported on many
platforms, and that Qt can replace STL while being portable to almost every
platform. Qt also offers a number of "tool" classes (which have nothing to
do with the GUI) which are not available in the STL.

Introducing Qt "tool" classes in the core of the application might
(or might not at all) introduce a risk concerning portability and re-use.

I'd appreciate any comments on this, since it might influence the re-use of
what i'm doing.

Thanks,

Bert.
