VisOrc Users and SAOL community,
I have spent some time over the past weeks creating a SAOL version of
Visual Orchestra (the Window's GUI for CSound). As it currently stands it
is possible to connect Core opcodes together to create instruments or User
Defined opcodes that can then be added to a library. It is also possible
to use the 'Global' instrument to link units representing these instruments
with units representing busses. The program creates SAOC and SASL files and
can also trigger any compiler to create sa.c or mpeg4 files
Many features of the CSound version have been removed but stil others
remain; the impressive score editor for example is still present as it
needed little modification. It's far from being a finished product yet but
I hope to spike your interest and get some feedback from you all to help
improve this fledgling product.
Perhaps the biggest missing part is the lack of any of the core opcodes in
the database. The "Device Designer" however can be used to create opcode
templates very easily. These can then be exported as very small text files
and mailed to the list so others can also benefit.
Also missing is any documentation (as always), I'll produce some more
substantial release notes in the next few days. If anyone is interested in
participating in some kind of documentation project then please contact me,
any help would be greatly appreciated and beneficial to everyone.
The Self-extracting/Installing EXE file can now be downloaded from the link
below. The file size is quite large (7Mb) because the Visual Basic 6
runtime DLL's are included. These will be ommited from future upgrades.

PS. I have just realised that I left an example project file out of the
distribution which may help you get started. I've now put the file online
here -> http://www2.hku.nl/~perry/bell.prj (32k)
