New stuff

(1) Welcome to all the new members.

(2) I've added an archive of past postings to this list (all but about the first
two or three) on the WWW page <sound.media.mit.edu/~eds/mpeg4>.

(3) I've released a new version of the source that fixes a couple bugs
and adds bitstream processing (so you can package up the SAOL, SASL, and
samples your piece needs into one file and "view" it with Netscape,
for example), also on the Web page.

(4) I'm interested in comments on numeric precision standard for SAOL
implementations (not just mine, but all the future ones). One way is
to use low-precision fixed point, and thus admit implementations based
on cheap DSPs like the 56000. The other is to use high-precision
floating point, preserving better sound quality, but essentially prohibiting
such implementations. Note that we're not only talking about sample value
outputs but also internal numbering, like filter coefficients.

(5) Any suggestions for improved syntax or changes to core opcodes are
encouraged to happen soon, that way I can officialy submit them to
MPEG in time for the next meeting (Jul 12 is the cutoff).
