One idea I have been toying with is to have a realtime process running
to implement the rendering of SAOL instruments. I thought of having
a GUI app as a separate process for designing instruments.

It might also be efficient to implement the parser as a separate program.
It could translate to some intermediate byte code or binary format and
pass this to the rendering process.
