Visual wiring (even without dangling patchcords ;-) is probably the key which
will open SAOL authoring to the masses (at the cost of some reduction of
expressivity I would think, I hope I'm wrong).
Eric (quoted below, from the list archive which I got round to reading through
completely today) said there were several graphical SAOL authoring tools
projects going on. Since we work on the authoring side too (a new breed of
MIDI/audio sequencer, very powerful :-), I would be very pleased to exchange
informations with any people developing GUI orchestra development tools so
our respective products can work side by side as harmoniously as possible.
