Dear SA developers,
at the last meeting in Pisa, January 15-19, MPEG finally approved
the first Audio corrigendum. For some editorial reasons the final text has been
sent to ISO only last Friday.
The Audio corrigendum is composed of 87 issues for the 6 subparts of Audio version
1; 38 of those issues concern directly subpart 5, i.e. SA.
The document you find in attachment is not the official document, it is a draft
input to the Pisa meeting describing the 38 SA corrigenda issues. This draft
has been essentially compiled by John Lazzaro and myself, with the external support
of at least one company active in MPEG. Some issues originate from discussions
on the saol-dev list. All these issues have been approved unchanged from the technical
point of view, and then the attached pdf can be considered a reliable source
of information for the SA corrigendum.
From now to the next meeting in Singapore an editorial effort known as "Edition 2001"
will be made within MPEG. Edition 2001 will be the editorial merging of version 1,
version 2 (where SA is not concerned) and relating corrigenda. An informal draft of this
edition has been prepared in Pisa too, the final text will be made available for purchase
by ISO in April or so, I suppose. In any case this will not contain any additional information,
just imagine the former SA standard with all the changes of the attached document made
in the right place.
On my side it's all, I think.
Best regards,
Giorgio
