I would be very surprised if you just couldn't download the
source version:

and get sfront running as a file renderer, just by following
the compilation directions you can find starting from the
index.html at the top level of the distribution.

This won't get real-time I/O, of course ... I read on some
mailing list recently that an ALSA port to OS X is almost
done, and since ALSA has OSS compatability, you can probably
get the FreeBSD or Linux OSS drivers to work. Alternatively,
I'm hoping someone will write native audio and control drivers,
since OS X is UNIX-like underneath, I'm hoping the audio I/O
API has a UNIX-y sort of API and will be an easy fit to the
sfront API's, but I haven't checked it out yet ...
