Welcome Gabriel!
For those who are not familiar with his work, Gabriel produced a version of
Csound which has both a real-time output and real-time response to MIDI. A
similar system would be invaluable for MPEG-4 (hint, hint :) ). I hear that
a number of people are working on this already. I've found the SAOL syntax
to be much more readable and easy to work with than Csound, because of the
ability to label instruments, function calls, definable interfaces to
instruments and a bunch of other features. Although I don't have an
automatic routine to turn Csound into MPEG-4, I have some practice at it now
and can offer suggestions. Some sort of Cecelia-like environment would also
help greatly.
