I've been getting some feedback from Mac OS X users
about the new sfront -aout mac_carbon audio driver, and it hasn't
been good -- the symptoms sound like frequent output buffer
overruns, even for audio streaming that has trivial CPU and
memory requirements.
Has anyone out there gotten sfront 0.78 on Mac OS X
to do artifact-free streaming using -aout mac_carbon? Either
using the defaults, or by playing with the sfront -latency
parameter? I'm leaning towards pulling the driver from the
distributions until I can test and tune it myself on a Mac,
but if there are success stories out there I'll keep the
driver in the distribution and put a disclaimer in the
documentation. Thanks in advance,
